Amazon’s Prime Day sale is underway, and we’re rounding up all the best deals we can find. While the event’s tens of thousands of discounts include a lot of junk, we’re still seeing a handful of discounts for anyone hoping to pick up a good gadget without breaking the bank. To help those on a tighter budget, we’ve combed through Amazon’s list to bring you the best Prime Day deals under $50.
Predictably, the highlights contain a number of Amazon devices, including Echo smart speakers, Fire HD tablets, and Kindle e-readers. There’s also one of our favorite budget headphones, Tile trackers, gaming gear, Anker charging accessories, and several board games we like, among others. Most of these are at or exceed the best prices we’ve seen, and we’ve included the average street price for each product over the last few months in parenthesis.

Amazon Echo Show 5 5.5-inch smart display for $35 (
$65) (Kids version for $40)
Amazon’s Echo Show 5 is a simple, useful smart display that blends into environments well. Its 5-inch screen fits well at the bedside thanks to a physical camera cover and the diminutive display’s ability to dim automatically or turn off. In a kitchen, the Echo show can deliver step-by-step recipes or play Netflix, Spotify, or Apple Music. It can also blend in well in living rooms, where you can use the 2-megapixel camera to video chat or peek into the house when you’re away. It doesn’t have the auto-framing feature to follow you around during video calls a la the Echo Show 8—which is also on sale for $75, down from a street price of $120—but we didn’t find that feature all that useful in our review, anyway.
There are a few other Echo devices on sale with bigger screens, more speakers, and more features, as well. Whichever one you choose, and regardless of where you place it, those with multiple speakers can use them in concert to play music across multiple rooms.
